Overview
In August 2011, Hurricane Irene hit the Eastern Seaboard including New York City. The cable news media hyped the story greatly and Jeff Jarvis was a poignant critic on Twitter using the hashtag: #StormPorn. I took Petula Clark’s classic “Downtown” and adapted it to call out the situation. Irene went on to cause some real damage inland, including loss of life. All in good fun.
